So true! When I spoke about this with a few 6th grade boys they just said they would use porn hub! 6th grade!!!

I have 4 kids — 3 have phones and the 4th has an iPod giving him access to even more because I can’t block an iPod — but with that kid, I don’t have to worry. Whew!

Each kid is so different in how they use their phones. What I’ve done is make sure phones aren’t in their rooms and I limit the time. I have a Smart Family app that allows me to block, filter, shut off WiFi, and a bunch of other things. More than using technology to fight technology I make life fun and exciting. I give them things to do. I engage in non-electronic activities AND I model life without a screen.

My 4th will get a phone for his birthday and I’m sure it will spend most of the time on his desk. In middle school he has many activities that he will need rides home from AND most important he wants to FaceTime his older brother in college each night!

I love technology but I love the quietness and simplicity of nature more.
