A Very Bokeh Christmas

Finally this year I have perfected the bokeh technique

I have an amazing photography friend. This year she posted a her tree in bokeh and I was equal parts pissed and inspired. Those two emotions often go hand in hand don’t they.

This year!! This year, I vowed, was going to be the year that I perfected the bokeh technique WITHOUT a bokeh app. Last year I cheated using an app and honestly my bokeh never really looked the way I wanted — to forced, to generated. I am a natural girl.

Before I give you the secrets, you MUST understand this one thing

Practice taking and deleting about . . . 1000 photos until you get it just right. The light outside, the light in the room, the lights on the tree . . . it all makes a difference. I took photos of my naked tree from 5:00 am to 5:30 am — making notes, taking a photo, making notes, taking a photo until finally, I took a photo that I liked.

Equipment

Iphone 6S, Iphone 7 and a iPod all had the same results.
